At SLHA, we believe in creating opportunities for success! Meet Iesha, an HCV Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) participant and single mother determined to make a difference. She’s pursuing an associate’s degree in health and human services, with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice afterward. Her ultimate goal? To start a nonprofit that helps women successfully reenter society after incarceration.
“I want to help bring stability to women rebuilding their lives,” says Iesha. “They don’t have to keep going down rocky roads. With the right support, change is possible.”
Through FSS, she’s not just saving money—she’s building a future. “My counselor, Ms. Renee, pushes me when I lose confidence. She won’t let me give up. She reminds me that the right door will open,” Iesha shares.
With determination, resilience, and the right resources, Iesha’s big dreams will become reality.
